I regret leaving my fiancé of 10 years. I did this six years ago and not a day goes by that I don’t regret it. He’s happy now. He is married and happy. I’m stuck in a relationship with somebody who stresses me out daily. I guess this is karma my payback. I’m broke I’m stuck.

  1. You know something? There were events, episodes, behaviours which led you to leave your fiancé all those years ago. You don’t just leave someone. There’s a build-up to a break-up.
Try to think back to that time.

There are no guarantees that leaving one relationship will lead to the golden path of happiness that we all seek. You say he’s happy. He may be happy; he may be not happy.

You are currently with someone who stresses you out daily. That’s okay! We meet people we gel with and we meet people we do not gel with! Your current partner falls in the latter category. You two are obviously not meant to be. So…

Okay. You say you are broke. You say you are stuck.

I am guessing your reasons for saying this may be related to the status of your ex’s new relationship? (He’s doing well, I am not!)

Move on from this. It’s hard. It’s difficult. It’s lonely, but it’s doable. And I know you will come out of this. You owe it to yourself.

I was where you currently are, so I speak with experience. I used to start each day in tears and gradually – gradually – things got better: they often do.

I offer you warmth and understanding.

    Best wishes, friend.
