SECRET REGRET OF THE DAY: February 15, 2016

I dated a girl and never told my parents when I was 16 because she lived in another state and I was a rookie driver knowing that I wouldn’t be allowed to make the commute. Even though she was on birth control, I got her pregnant. we agreed to give her up for adoption. She changed her mind about 2 months before giving birth and we had a big fight and she kicked me out of her life. She has a different number, lives by the Atlantic, I live by the Pacific. picjumbo.com_P1000733She moved several years ago, and has a new life with a husband. I never told my parents anything. They are really conservative and Catholic, and I wouldn’t know where to start. She and I don’t talk much, she doesn’t want me in their lives. Every time I tell a new romantic interest, they leave because of the baggage I carry. It is a lonely road.

  1. You can file to legitimize the child so you will have visitation rights if you want to be part of your child’s life. I would become a part of it sooner rather than later or you will carry the burden of not seeing your child the rest of your life. It is hard, but so worth it. Accidents happen and they turn into beautiful miracles. You have every right to know your child and be part of his or her life.

  2. I hope all works out for you, and the people that walk away from you when you tell them that, they are not worth being in your life.. be thankful they walked away.. someone will come along that will accept all about you.. that’s when you will know that person is the right one.. I wish you lots of Love and happiness in your life..🙂 And tell your parents, if they disown you because of it, then you are better off without them, parents should love their children unconditionally.
