I regret signing a loan for a friend. She paid on the loan for a couple of years and then suddenly stopped. I am now stuck with $40,000+ of debt, being too nice. We took care of each other’s children and trusted each other.

  1. Oh dear, another case of “No good deed goes unpunished.” Take this “friend” to court , put liens on whatever material goods she possesses. Make her life a misery. She has acted without regard for your well-being and has forfeited any kindness from you. Her evil act is in no way a reflection of you, even family does this kind of stuff. Take it as a life lesson, to be more careful about friends and finance. They don’t mix.

  2. I take it you tried to contact her and asked her why she stopped paying you back what she owed you? When it comes to money you cannot really trust anyone. The best thing is not to lend any or not lend too much and see you get it back before lending more. Many of us have got stung that way, sadly. You might have to kiss your money goodbye.
